For dance classes, students require tan jazz shoes. Crocs, sliders, or similar footwear should not be worn to class, and students cannot dance in socks due to health and safety reasons.
Students should wear comfortable, fitted clothing that allows teachers to see body lines and posture clearly in the mirror. Please also bring plenty of water to class.
Yes — all students perform in a show once a year. Depending on the class, this may be a musical, variety show, or drama showcase.
Students are generally grouped by age and, in some cases, by school class so they can learn alongside children at a similar stage and level.
There are three terms each year at Phoenix Stage School:
- September – December
- January – March
- April – June
Term fees are added to your account approximately one month before the start of each new term. Parents then have two weeks to confirm their child’s place for the following term by paying a €40 deposit. See more about Terms dates and fees here.
We understand that students may occasionally miss classes due to illness, holidays, or other commitments. Where possible, we often send rehearsal videos to help students catch up at home.
In the weeks leading up to a show or competition, we do ask for full attendance where possible so students feel confident and fully prepared.
Yes — our drama students are entered for examinations with the Irish Board of Speech and Drama. We also support students preparing for auditions and performance opportunities where appropriate.
Of course! We have lots of boys across all areas of Phoenix Stage School, including our Minis, Musical Theatre, Drama, Dance, and Singing classes.
We currently offer 1:1 singing lessons. From time to time, some of our advanced students may also be selected to perform solo dances for shows and competitions.
At the moment, we do not offer adult classes.
